The Parliamentary Institute of South Africa is a membership-based non-governmental organization which serves as a cross-party parliamentary forum. PISA operates under Chatham House rules and is based in Parliament in Cape Town. PISA’s objective is to empower South Africa's Parliament to better meet its constitutional mandate and to foster greater parliamentary involvement in policy development.

PISA's members are former and currently serving members of Parliament. PISA’s associate members are selected captains of industry; academics, diplomats, community and religious leaders, opinion makers and journalists. PISA provides a high level venue for meaningful and confidential discussions among its members and associate members about the future of our country.
